March 2014 update:
LIMF is proud and delighted to announce that What's Become of You? (Questcequetudeviens?)
has been nominated for an Olivier Award in the category of Best New Dance Production.

In the words of the Olivier Award judges, the show 'raised the bar for flamenco, distilling the essence of the traditional Spanish form of dance and giving it a new story, an artist's journey of discovery'.

The 'Oliviers' are Britain's most prestigious theatre awards, recognising excellence and star quality.

Congratulations to Aurélien, Stéphanie and their colleagues, for achieving this great honour!

It starts with a guitar in the darkness.
In a beautifully stark setting, Aurélien Bory’s creation for Stéphanie Fuster explores the lure of flamenco, its familiar heat and passion refined to their essence as a powerful, personal story unfolds.

Born in Toulouse, Stéphanie Fuster went to Seville to immerse herself in flamenco dance and lifestyle, becoming a soloist with the Israel Galvan Company among other famous names of the new generation.
Director/choreographer Aurélien Bory paints stage pictures impossible to forget. Five of his visually stunning productions have previously featured at the Mime Festival, including his spatial trilogy culminating with More or Less Infinity, Sans Objet for two acrobats and industrial robot, and most recently at the Barbican, his astonishing Les 7 Planches de la Ruse with the Chinese Acrobats of Dalian.

His response to Stéphanie Fuster’s commission takes flamenco in a new direction. The traditional elements are there, with live vocals and guitar, but the context is different - this is the portrait of an artist, an emancipated woman in search of herself, who lives and who dies.
