LONDON INTERNATIONAL MIME FESTIVAL 2019
WED 9 JAN > SUN 3 FEB
Welcome to the line-up for the 2019 London International Mime Festival.
UK artists are at the forefront of this year’s festival. Gecko and Gandini Juggling with Alexander Whitley make their respective main stage debuts. Barely Methodical Troupe opens the festival with its latest acrobatic spectacular, Thick & Tight delight and Stan’s Cafe makes a rare London appearance with The Capital. Theatre Re will premiere its latest creation, Birth, a LIMF co-commission and Green Ginger will explore the inner reaches of the human body in Intronauts.
The festival’s international dimension includes companies from Belgium, Finland, France, New Zealand, Norway and Spain. Debut participants include extraordinary performance artist, Olivier de Sagazan, ice puppeteers Theatre de l’Entrouvert, and 2018 Total Theatre Award winners Focus & Chaliwate with Backup. Returning guests with new productions include Plexus Polaire, Thomas Monckton, Les Antliaclastes and Olivier Award winners Peeping Tom. Xavi Bobés brings his atmospheric salon performance Things Easily Forgotten back to the festival.
As ever a wide range of workshops, artists’ talks and discussions complements the performance programme, which also features two classic silent films screening at the Barbican Cinema, each with live music accompaniment.
Forget Brexit for a moment if you can – enjoy our inspiring, different world of Visual Theatre.
