Through the study of Etienne Decroux’s figures of style and pieces of repertoire, participants will learn how to sculpt and breathe life into intricate, inventive and thought-provoking visual and physical work. Looking at the articulation of space, body and weight, dynamorythms, and counterweights, they will enhance their performance skills, develop their taste for non-naturalistic work, and push the boundaries of what theatre, without a playwright, can do.

This 5-day workshop is designed for professional and semi-professional performers, actors and dancers as well as visual artists, students and recent graduates. No previous experience of Corporeal Mime is required to join, only your curiosity and playfulness.

Guillaume Pigé is the Artistic Director and founder of Theatre Re. Originally from France, he has been living in the UK for the past 15 years. He trained with theatre makers and directors such as Andrew Visnevski, Steven Wasson, Corinne Soum, Daniel Stein and Thomas Leabhart.

Rooted in Etienne Decroux's Corporeal Mime, his practice takes inspiration from science, philosophy, psychology and public health to address global human challenges through moving and visually striking poetic theatre. His work has been performed in more than 15 countries, notably at The Cerventino Festival (Mexico), Hong Kong Arts Festival, New Victory Theater (USA), National Taichung Theatre (Taiwan) and London International Mime Festival (UK).

He has been an Associate Teacher at R.A.D.A since 2011 and is regularly invited to give workshops about Theatre Re's creative process and Corporeal Mime throughout the UK and internationally.

If you are interested in participating in one of the festival’s workshops at LAMDA or Shoreditch Town Hall and require access support in order to do so, please email access@mimelondon.com with details and with any questions no later than Friday 9 December.
